funsizedshark,
Maya Wind paints an extremely clear picture of the involvement of Israeli universities in Palestinian oppression, through both silent complicity and active endeavors that go from educating the next generation of IOF soldiers and developing military technology that will be violently used against Palestinians to repressing Palestinian academic voices and dissent。 The extent of the occupation is painted across the halls of these universities, and Wind doesn't fail to remind us that her research was Maya Wind paints an extremely clear picture of the involvement of Israeli universities in Palestinian oppression, through both silent complicity and active endeavors that go from educating the next generation of IOF soldiers and developing military technology that will be violently used against Palestinians to repressing Palestinian academic voices and dissent。 The extent of the occupation is painted across the halls of these universities, and Wind doesn't fail to remind us that her research was both aided by her status as a white Israeli scholar and built on the contributions that Palestinian activists have made toward the liberation of their land。Incredible work, needed now more than ever as more and more organizations call for an academic boycott of Israel universities from faculties all over the world。“No one can speak up all the time on all the issues。 But, I believe, there is a special duty to address the constituted and authorized powers of one’s own society, which are accountable to its citizenry, particularly when those powers are exercised in a manifestly disproportionate and immoral war, or in a deliberate program of discrimination, repression, and collective cruelty。” —Edward Said 。。。more
